But if you want to focus on weight loss, then this study found that using a CPAP machine for people with sleep apnea will help you achieve your weight loss goals more so than just diet or exercise alone. The CPAP machine works by keeping the throat muscles open when you sleep so that your throat doesn’t close. Doctors in this study have said that if they start patients on the CPAP machine at the same time as a weight loss program, then patients have seen a lot of success in losing weight, having more energy and exercising more.
